8th World Championship — record equalling
Nour beat fellow Egyptian Hania El Hammamy 11-5, 11-9, 4-11, 11-7 in the final of the PSA World Championships at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness in Chicago to win her eighth World Championship title — equalling Nicol David’s all-time record. “It’s amazing, I never thought I would be winning eight,” she said afterwards. “I’m glad I won this title, it means a lot for my corner, my team and my parents.”
Into the semis in El Gouna
Nour beat Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam 3-0 (12-10, 11-8, 11-9) in the quarter-finals of the El Gouna International Squash Open, coming back from behind in the first game to close it out in straight games.
Youngest to 500 pro matches
Nour became the youngest female player ever to reach 500 professional matches, doing so at the CIB Egyptian Open — which she went on to win for her 41st career title. Career record: 405 wins, 95 losses, 66 finals reached.
265 weeks (and counting) at world No. 1
Since first reaching the top of the PSA World Rankings in May 2016, Nour has spent more weeks as world No. 1 than all but a handful of players in the sport’s history.
